This guy's been keeping the secret of face on a family business for at least five decades. In 1979 after graduating from high school, the family ran a little clothing store by the name of "Nelson's Boutique & Sportswear." By 1977, the Nelson family of Vancouver had opened a new business in nearby Vancouver called "Nelson's Sportswear." In October 1979, the family changed their name to Nelson Industries and in the fall of 1979, opened their very first store. The Nelson Brothers opened their first store in the tiny town of Chilliwack, British Columbia. Fast forward five decades later, and this family is a multi-billion dollar conglomerate which has become the world's largest supplier of sports apparel. They are also world-renowned for being a team which has always managed to maintain a winning culture. The story behind mysterious face that was on their back to many of customers can finally be told! The first Nelson was born on Dec. 23, 1942 in Vancouver when his parents, George and Helen Nelson, were living in Surrey, BC. The year that he was born, the city of Vancouver was one the richest in world. Vancouver's population was around 13 million at the time, just over one million more than Los Angeles. While living in Surrey, George Nelson was already aware that he would one day own a garment business when he noticed some boys at school wearing an orange T-shirt with a picture of the famous Canadian basketball star Harold "Radar" Robinson on it. Nelson knew then that this might be his future in business. He decided to generic diflucan over the counter keep his parents name, George and Helen Nelson, he wanted the family business to incorporate that name, since he wanted it to include his parents and sister. So, in 1959, Nelson was born. Nelson's first big opportunity came when his mother had a meeting with business partner while his sister and sister-in-law served on the family board of directors. meeting went well until a family argument led to Mrs. Nelson slapping her partner for no reason. The Nelson's first company began its journey to huge success when George was hired as one of the employees a company owned by the Canadian Olympic Committee in Montreal. The would be one of first companies to start selling sportswear with the use of new fabric that required the athletes be able to breathe, cool their down during hot weather, and more on the front of clothing. Canadian Olympic Committee would soon join with the Nelson's family business to form the Canadian Sports Commission. As a side business, George Nelson owned a chain of shoe stores and when his business partner had just one store left in his country, George wanted to buy it make sure that his sister-in-law, Mrs. Nelson would have one too. George and his partner made the decision to close store and sell the business on to Nelson March 2, 1964. The company sold business for $50,000. It wasn't that the Nelson's weren't making great money then, it was just that they weren't making as much do today.
